Today’s announcement that over 70s may be asked to self-isolate will affect many in North Walsham. These, and anyone who is ill with Covid 19, will not be able to go shopping, collect medication or other essentials.
We are fortunate to have the very well established Good Neighbours group in our town whose volunteers already offer short term practical support to people in North Walsham. They will extend their services to those in need in the current crisis, but will need additional support from town, including more volunteers.
At a meeting this morning the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Clerk have agreed to print and distribute the Good Neighbours Scheme’s Information leaflet to every home in North Walsham to ensure that everybody in our Town is informed on the support available to those who have no family or neighbours available to help. We are also looking into see how we can help with costings and will work with already established neighbourhood groups
